So Wicked got cancelled. Stephanie Block is hurt (don't know how yet) but it's serious enough that opening night is cancelled BOO! I came home and my mom ran to the door saying "there's been bad news" I thought one of my grandparents had died or something. But no, it was that there now isn't an opening night of Wicked. Crap. Tickets can be refunded or exchanged but if you exchange them you'll get crappy seats because the show is almost sold out. I'm not giving up front row for second balcony. They're also adding a performance THIS sunday night. So I'm going to that, so is Dell hopefully if she can make it. My dad is being awesome and he's paying for my bus ticket back to TO in 5 days. What a waste of a trip. Well not a waste because I got to see Jo and I'll get to see Dell soon BUT I NEED to be writing a 20 page paper that's due on Thursday and I could have been in Sudbury doing that instead of being here watching Saved! (which while it's a great movie, could have waited)
I think the show is cursed. Seriously, theatre people are usually supersticious and this could possibly take the cake. So far there's been:
Kristin's Neck injury
Norbert's back injury (which brought about Taye yumminess)
Mellisa Bell Chait (I think)'s stroke
Joel Grey getting sick
Idina falling through the stage
and now whatever has happened to Stephanie J. Block.
eep.

Date: 2005-03-09 09:56 am (UTC)There is an understudy AND yesterday they flew in the understudy from Broadway to take over the lead in case Stephanie is going to be out for a while.
What happened was that the flying machine broke (I'll post details later today) and I don't think they were going to run the show 'til they A. fixed it (of course) and B. tested the hell out of it to make sure it was not going to break ever again. That's why no show, at least that's why I think there was no show.
