I didn't see Lamb's death coming, and personally I'm going to miss him. At his best, he was an interesting character in that he didn't like to listen to others (especially if those others are named Mars), but he was capable of figuring things out and doing his job -- and could hold his own with the flying quips. Unfortunately, he was all too often at his worse.
No, Keith would never have been made Sheriff like that. In Indiana, if an elected position is vacated it's usually filled by the political party of the exiting official, which Keith obviously wasn't. I'm not against the idea of him being Sheriff, but the Keith/Veronica relationship was one of the best things about the show, and it's not fun having them at odds.
Don't get me started on Logan. He's the *last* kind of guy a person like Veronica would get into a relationship with, considering her trust issues. Their affair never made any kind of sense.
