I have moved!

The day took MUCH longer than was planned but that's always the way. My roommates are gone for the weekend (thought they'd avoid the moving madness (me in their old roommate out)) and that was probably for the best as I ended up with stuff EVERYWHERE. The movers we used were FABULOUS if you're moving in TO Toronto City Movers were definitely good movers. Fair prices, they were only 30 minutes outside of their estimated timeline and that was partly due to some of my furniture not fitting up the stairs and then us not having the right tools to take things apart... but in the end everything is in my room, I'm on the internet already, and my TV is picking up more channels now due to the location change :)

Last night I packed 'til 11, walked to Nomi's residence with her to pick up a suitcase and then was in bed by 12 while she kept packing, she had a LOT of stuff to get packed in just one day. I woke up at 3, she was still packing, I did a bit more and then we both passed out at around 4. I got up at 6:30 and finished my stuff, I think by about 9 I was pretty much ready to go, our movers arrived at 10 (my parents just before) and they moved my stuff first. The move went really smooth until it got to trying to move my desk and futon up to the third floor and they just would not fit. I saved the allen key for taking apart the futon BUT it was stripped and wouldn't fit so my dad went to buy me more tools and we just moved things as far into the house as they would go and the movers went back to the apartment for Nomi's stuff. In the meantime I found the box that had my tool kit packed in it but we didn't have the right tools anyways. I was able to improvise with the desk and got it almost apart before my dad got back with more tools for my tool kit.

We got things inside, locked up and went back to the apartment so I could start doing some more cleaning, sweeping up etc. and my parents went out for lunch. Nomi's stuff got moved fine and then my parents took some of the stuff she didn't want to store to her residence and I kept cleaning, Zion clearly shed enough to build a whole new cat!

Then it was time to pack up the first carload of stuff that I had left, computer and then random bags of stuff that I didn't get properly packed.

That move went fairly fast and my dad stayed behind to start taking apart and putting back together my futon. My mom and I did a second car load of stuff included Spec (my fish) and Zion (Nomi's cat) and that ran pretty smooth as well.

The main problem for the day was timing, there was a lot of sitting around in between actual moving so it just took longer than planned. However everything got moved (including a bag I meant to go to Value Village so I'll have to tuck that one aside for when my mom can come to visit and take it with her.

The room that I'm moved into is lovely. It's going to be hot in here this summer but I have an air conditioner so I'm all over that. I'm hoping the two cats can learn to get along, they're both trying to get to each other now but I'm too tired tonight to play referee so I'm just going to bed. Hopefully I sleep in late tomorrow. I'm awake now, I feel that I'm tired and my muscles hurt like woah, but I'm wired still. However I'd like some deep sleep tonight.
