I once met a girl who was afraid of the Harry Potter books. We were selling the 4th one when I worked in a hotel gift shop here and this girl, her mom and I'm guessing a friend of the family came in. They sounded like they were from the Southern US somewhere.

Anyways the friend of the family saw we had HP4 on the shelf and went to give it to the little girl and this girl literally backed away from the book saying "mama says I shouldn't read those." It was a cross between funny because it was so stereotypical and sad because this poor kid was being made to miss out on something great because her mom had some problem with the books.
