First of all, to anyone who is in London or knows anyone there, my prayers are with you. What sadness in this world. I mean it was almost like waiting for the other shoe to drop... and I guess it always will be, because this is the world that exists now and it's damn scary when we open our eyes.

The other thing that is closer to home that is freaking me out is of course Karla Homolka being out of jail. I saw her interview on CBC earlier this week and she is the scariest person I've ever seen. She says all of the right words but if you watch her she doesn't care about what she did, she doesn't see the horror there and now she's free. They interviewed families in Montreal the other night on the news to see how they felt about her living there and this one mother who had a daughter who must have been around 10 years old said she thinks it's fine and she thinks that now that she's served her time in jail that she isn't a threat. THE FUCK? Does no one remember that she LIED to get her plea bargin and that she actually should be serving consecutive life sentences with her husband. Let's also note that this movie Deadly should never be seen EVER. It's totally disrespectful aand is based on a false version of events which make Homolka look like a victim herself. It makes me sick. I was too young to get what was happening the first time around, now I'm old enough to realize that it's another situation of chance. Walk down the wrong street and I could have been one of the victims, it's terrible.

A lighter subject of events to wrap this up... we had a bomb threat in the underground mall where I work (I swear this gets funnier) of course in terms of todays events I was slightly panicky because I get like that. We work near to a subway station so I was playing "what's the worst thing that could happen" in my head. Anyways, we had to evacuate the store and head outside. We of course had people who were undetourred by the alarm ringing and who were still trying on clothes and such. We had to ask them to leave and we had a few who still wanted to make purchases and some that had their stuff held... honestly, they were totally consummed by their shopping... HELLO?! Take the fucking tshirt, I don't care just get out so I can get out and not get blown up. I guess it's an odd commentary on today's life. Material goods are far too important to some people. The Yogen Fruz guy in the mall was still serving customers when we were all leaving, and people were still getting in line... once again, how important exactly is that frozen yogurt to you?
