Veronica Mars thoughts (VIV DON'T SPOIL YOURSELF!)

Did I just enjoy Duncan's character? Wait, what? This is so new to me .... Okay possibly it's because he is hardly in this episode so you just get that he's doing the noble thing by proxy... but still. I'm having warm fuzzy feelings for his character... I've been played lol

Okay still a problem though. This episode on it's own makes Duncan good BUT if we look at how much of an ass he's been all season this episode does not fix him.

Oh Veronica. The whole episode I was just shaking my head at her. Yes I love the intention of doing the right thing and getting that baby away from Meg's parents BUT the jail time she could face. And breaking that trust with her dad... I mean she's been doing it bit by bit and this was just... broke my TV heart it did.

There was a TWoP shout out in the episode... see good tv listens to TWoP. Bad tv doesn't. Respect it.

Also the numbers on the fortune were apparently the same ones used in LOST so LOL way to play that out :) Love it.

I do love how EVERYONE was playing EVERYONE in this episode. It worked well. And poor poor Lamb, he just couldn't win this week. Yes Veronica lies but if the FBI couldn't catch her you can do it how? I was rooting for him to have some luck but he just couldn't :(

Oh and speaking of FBI, Lucy Lawless rocked. I never watched much Xena so I'm not overly familiar with her but damn is she ever funny. Great great role :)

Back to the plot, I knew some of it was going on. The Breakup was just.... yeah, not so welll done. I think almost everyone guessed it was a fake out. Great Soundtrack though, I love that cd.

Ummm Wallace rocks.

Logan and Weevil scenes rock.

The show is working itself out. Still it's not as good as last year but it's solid. And the way the Fitzpatrick thing is coming together looks good.

Ummm other stuff, I love that the baby is named Lilly.

I loved the Vinnie scenes.

Keith Mars rocks my world.

The Astrid thing was neat too, I wondered why they had that flashback in the "previously on VM"

And hey, Duncan is gone... for now... for a while... who knows how long, but for now *yay*

Can we have Veronica version 2.0 back now?

Also my tv was too fuzzy to read the fortune? what the hell was it?

Duncan... god I'm still wavering on this.. I think he's still a crazy guy and that he's possibly Lilly's (sister not daughter) killer. This episode is more out of character than anything we've seen for him this year. I liked the character, but it's not who we've been shown all year.

Finally I could read this!

Hehehe. Duncan just makes me really uncomfortable and like you I felt manipulated by the writers. Not to the same degree as when The O.C. did it with Marissa Cooper, but eugh.

I just couldn't put aside the whole legal aspect of this episode to fully enjoy it. The basic premise was completely flawed and that ruined it for me. :(

I'm just waiting for the Meg - Veronica showdown when Meg comes back and is like, "YOU DID WHAT?!! I told YOU to take care of my baby!! Not my INSANE ex-boyfriend!!" Hehehehe. I'm obsessed.

hehe you are obsessed but you come up with amusing plot ideas that make me giggle... and in this case make more sense than the entire last episode.

Legally (after talking to you more) I get it more... and yeah as soon as you step back from the episode it makes no sense. Especially even if Meg's parents won partial custody (which would be the most they could possibly get... and by possibly I mean in the TV relm of possible) then Duncan would still sometimes have his baby, and would have been able to skip town while he had custody instead of kidnapping the kid and having to get through roadblocks and the FBI.

"True love stories have no ending.

:)

(And apparently this is the fortune that D gave to V on her birthday, back in "Normal is the Watchword", that we never go to read. :))

p.s. - Were you a Teenage Woman of Propriety? ;)

Thank you, it took forever for that to get posted anywhere lol. I really wish we'd never gotten to read it... because that's just dribble, wouldn't have sent me running back into his arms as he stalked me all summer... ;)

LOVED the TWoP shoutout :)

I iconed the whole episode [livejournal.com profile] rage_my_darling

Finally watched, but I don't get why that woman that worked for Celeste helped Duncan. Agree completely with everything you wrote above. Part of me still believes Duncan is Lily's killer. And they're finally going somewhere with Logan's story. Now if only they can get back together.

[identity profile] elizalavelle.livejournal.com 2006-01-30 03:34 am (UTC)(link)
I think that maybe in the end Celeste was sort of in on it... where else is Duncan going to get the money to support his kid? Because it's a kidnapping now all of his assetts would have been frozen by the FBI so he needs a source of income. He can work but for the first little while someone needs to take care of baby Lilly as well.

I'm excited to see how the rest of the season plays out. I think there are going to be some great moments :)

Right there with ya. Great moments here we come.
