Wait what, Flan almost cancelled again?!

WHAT THE HELL? Remind me to avoid any BE event. This is nonsense. Actually I can see what some of it is. My mom does conventions (not on a TV circut) and she's had a few places book her as a guest and then not complete the booking process for one reason or another (usually just disorganization on their end) and they're telling their members that my mom is a guest and she's not been booked. Then when they realize their mistake and if it's too late to fix it they'll say "oh _____ cancelled on us last minute, there's nothing we could do" (sound like any of the stories about some of the cast members "cancelling" their Flan appearances?) and that's how they try to avoid looking bad. This nonsense with saying the hotel was cancelling Flan is just a sheer stupd lie. Did they think that the attendees wouldn't call the hotel to see what was going on? Hell most of them are staying at the hotel anyways. Le sigh.

I'm optimistic that Flan will happen in the end. BE hasn't told a lie that's going to stand up as a reason as to why there won't be a Flan, ergo I think they're backed into a corner somewhat and have to put on the even now. At least I'm hoping so for everyone I know who is going/is there already. This has been far too much stress for everyone who's actually going and I hope this new problem is resolved very quickly. I'm expecting some Big Damn Shiny Stories from this weekend, I wish everyone the best! :)

I just got a note from danniisupernova that Flan 2 HAS been cancelled. I looked at their website a couple of hours ago and that's what it said. My post tonight was inquiring if this was real. Dannii seems to think so. How can we confirm this? Heck, I'm not even going and this depresses me. So many were looking forward to this for so long!

Apparently it was cancelled briefly and then was back on.... if it's cancelled now that just sucks, most everyone is already there, it's too late to turn back now.

.... and I see it is indeed cancelled :( WHAT THE HELL how can that be justified?

Can you imagine all our friends out there now who have to face of weekend of non-con? I hope that something can be pulled together - maybe by the southern California BCs who stepped up last week to offer a party etc.

But...on the upside, Adam Baldwin showed to the Bash party even though he knew Flan was cancelled. How wonderful is that! I knew there was a reason I adored that man. :)

Still, I think we TO BCs should have a shindig next Saturday to lift our spirits.

Next Saturday is no good for me, Sarah Slean concerts on the 15th and 16th... if it's a Sunday I'm so in. If not I support the lifting of spirits in spirit ;)

Still thinking Shindig for next weekend? Any chance of a Sunday lunch or dinner thing? I want to hear everyones stories, it sounds like the weekend has turned out pretty damn great :)

I'll put a message on the TO firefly shindigs board and see what people think. Sunday afternoon would be fine with me.

Fabulous :) I have just been elated as I read the posts on Whedonesque about the fans and cast and everyone just working together to pull this weeked through. Now it's gone from something that was just a wreck to an event I wish I'd been at :)
