*STILL* no email notifications from LJ showing up in my email. Ugh. I added the LJ notify email to my contacts list, and have emailed Hotmail... no change.

Anyways I was housesitting earlier this week, then in Sudbury for a couple of days so if I've missed any interesting posts please leave me a comment :)

I spent my weekend up in Sudbury. I really didn't think I'd be going back there again but once I was there I had a great time! I got in late Friday night and then stayed up for a while chatting with my aunt and catching up.

Saturday I went to visit an old (not in age just in that I'm not a student anymore) prof of mine who also was my academic advisor. She's going to be a reference for me for my Teacher's College applications and I wanted to actually meet with her so she could have a good impression of who I was now. I think I've grown a lot as a person since I was a student and I just wanted that to factor into the recommendation. She told me that I was a natural born teacher and I really trust her opinion so that's fantastic :)

Then Saturday evening LisaLisa and Rob picked me up and took me out to their house and we ordered a fabulous Toppers Pizza (I miss Toppers!) and watched the 6th Sense. Rob's brother was in town too and had brought up his Nintendo Wii which I'd never played before so we played bowling and tennis and it was so much fun! When they're more affordable/available I so want one!

Sunday I visited my Aunt's father who has just moved into a retirement home. It's actually not too bad and I think he's pretty happy to be there which is nice to see.

Then my friend Taryn and I went out for a coffee and ended up at Bay Used Books (totally my idea lol) and I found a few things I wanted and then she dropped me back off at my Aunt's house in the evening.

From there I was taken out for a really nice dinner and then ended up taking the Monday morning bus home... where I had gang members behind me bragging about killing people... that part of the trip was not so swell. Everything else was lovely.

But it's not really a trip to Sudbury without something strange and terrible on the bus ride!

That's true and the rest of the trip was great so something sketchy was on deck to even it out a bit ;)

LOL and now I'm reminded of that first overnight bus trip that you, Ash, Matt and I took one night with the people from Wawa who were so hammered and kept puking the whole way and who I'm sure were going to be very surprised when they realized they were in TO whenever they sobered up... that was not so much fun.

Good to hear you had a nice time in the land of my birth ;o)
I've even been to Bay Used Books! Not a bad store :o)

Why don't you try getting yourself a Gmail address? I use mine almost exclusively now, you can make filters, search it, have a ton of storage space, and it's never crashed on me or lost anything at all, and all my LJ comments always show up... just an idea. From the first day I got a gmail account, I knew I'd never go back to hotmail. :o)

I think I do have a Gmail just wasn't using it much, I'll try switching service over there. I did recieve one notification this morning so maybe Hotmail fixed the problem... I dunno I still suspect it was more of an LJ problem than they were willing to cop to. Most email providers don't just block one website for no reason.

And yup Sudbury was lovely. Not too cold this visit and no rain 'til the day I left.

I pretty much enjoy all bookstores :)

You had me at "used books" ... although you kinda lost me at "gang members". :-)

LOL well the books were in the city, the gang members were on the bus ride out of town and neither of them were local. So It was all still good. Plus I figure the people sitting on a bus chatting about the things they've done can't be actually really hardcore. They're just at the lower levels and are messing around.

Agreed. It's kind of like soldiers: the ones who brag about being in battle are usually the posers; the ones who have been in real, hard combat won't even mention it for years, if ever. It sounds like the people you heard were what we call "wannabe's".
