Canadian Idol
Aug. 27th, 2004 08:42 amI went to see them film Canadian Idol this week (Wed.) and it was really neat to see. There are a few performers who have NO idea how to work a stage and for them it's completely the camera people who are making them look like performers. Those poor camera people run around that stage like mad creating the illusion of movement. The three little girls we took were so cute, they were sitting on the edge of their seats the whole time and looked like they were having the time of their lives.
After the show they do an autograph session where the idols are on stage and the kids all crowd around the front and fight to get close enough to pass up a picture or poster to be signed. It was complete madness! Pre-teen/young teen girls are violent and mean. Also there were some parents in there who I wanted to shoot. Daisy got hit by an older gentleman and an older lady on two occasions. Who hits a kid? I get that they're in there getting autographs for their kids but what does that teach them? "well sweety daddy knocked over a girl just your age to get Kaylan to sign this for you, do you love me now?" So rude.
But the girls managed to get a few autographs. I stayed far away from that scene and watched the security guard freak out trying to keep the kids from breaking the TVs that are attached to the judges table.
All in all it was a fun night, I'm very glad that I'm not a twelve year old girl, that's a terrible age to be. But the show was cute and it was really neat to see it live.
Oh and Ben Mulroney is a tool.
