Dec. 3rd, 2004 11:38 pmFirst and foremost, I finished my Buffy video, episodic, to Amends. It took me forever and on the first cut there were a few really rough bits, so I changed them but it messed up all of the timing... urrrrrgh! But now I have a finished product that I'm pretty happy with. There's one section I couldn't get back in synch perfectly with the music but aside from that one it went really well.
Secondly, I really like my work right now. I'm kinda sad I'll only be there 'til the end of December but that's the way with seasonal jobs. It's not that I adore retail work or anything. It's okay but I wouldn't want to do it for the rest of my life, that work is just not for me, especially not at a general staff level, maybe at managerial level... but probably not. I am really finding all of the staff and managers to be really supportive of each other and just positive over all. I got thanked twice today for doing my job! The first time was because I counted all of these contest ballots that we got (793) and the second time was for repricing a table of sweaters... that shed a lot.... when I was wearing all black and so by the time I was done was covered in fuzz! I kid you not, I wish we'd had a camera, my black top was almost white! I got laughed at a lot but it was all in good fun because I looked ridiculous. But once again my managers were really thanking me for doing what was just my job... it's not like fuzz damages clothes and I defuzzed once I was done... it's not like it was a huge deal, just part of work. It's less mess than smoothies sometimes were lol. All in all I really am enjoying the atmosphere at work... everyone wants you to succeed, it's a nice feeling. Especially after reading Jo's story about her recent work experiences... I'm just lucky that I ended up at a good place for now.
Oh and I wish I lived in NYC... Idina's performing mid December... just a small gig... the exact type of thing that I'd LOVE to see her do and I can't be there. I just cannot justify going down in December and then again two weeks later.... My parents would kill me if they ever found out... the debt would kill me on it's own and I'd be missing work and editing time (not my fun video editing but my documentary for school which is really important to get done.)
sleepy now
work tomorrow
have to iron work clothes :S ..... tomorrow morning
oh and the above icon (by Viv) is true... I just got the new Winter Rescue shampoo (as seen on tv because commercials are far too much an influence in my life lol) and it's amazing! I'm a big fan.
the end for real!
