Back in the city
Jul. 21st, 2002 09:31 pmWell I'm home. I wish I could have stayed away for longer, escaped from the reality of working and paying for school etc but I had to return. Dell and I had so much fun though!
We got to the cottage on Friday evening, ate a litte (her grandma made sure we ate so much food!) and unpacked in the hut, so much fun to stay in there. We went to bed pretty early cuz working makes you want to do that.
Saturday we swam twice, once in the morning, then ate, took a nap, went for ice cream and swam again. What a great life. Well the water apparently had Ecoli in it but meh we wanted to swim and we stayed away from where there was lots of algae...the water looked clear that's okay right? lol Anyways parents were letting their really little kids swim in the green water so since they seemed okay we figured we'd be fine. Sat night we looked at the stars, I love it when you can actually see more than just 2 stars in the sky...
The only bad thing about Saturday was when I called home to let my parents know when I was coming home on Sunday my mom let me know that the babysitting lady who hadn't paid me had called. I am supposed to be babysitting for her for the next two weeks but since she didn't pay me and since I was offered other work I wasn't going to go back. Well she called to say she had my money and she'd see me tomorrow at 9:30, ummm nope.
Sunday we tried to swim in the morning but it was cloudy and it felt so SO cold in the water. We came out, some skeezy guy tried to pick us up, we thought he was having some kind of mid life crises. So we went back, packed up, contemplated barracading ourselves in the hut, and then came home. The bus ride was interesting. Behind our seat was an alcolholic guy who was also on antidepressents. He ended up talking to this Zen, save the world type of girl across the aisle from him. She was trying to save his soul and he was trying to pick her up. At one point he was like " would you sit next to me if I stabbed you in the neck"? Not good, and she just kept talking to him and egging him on.
Ummm so I'm home now, called that women and fortunatly for me, got her machine. So I got to "break up" with her machine, Buffy movie fans may find that quote amusing, I did.
I'm off to bed so I'll be wide awake for work tomorrow, good good great work!
Oh yah and a friend of my mom's who I also cat sat for dropped off a bunch of old books today, ones from when she was a kid and a couple that were her moms! I'm in book heaven! I love love love them!
