A brief Thursday tv review while I wait for Viv to finish her ice cream lol Spoilers below the cut for C.S.I and WaT

C.S.I

Clearly Jo and her spoilers are correct. Nothing overly special here. It was an okay episode. But it lacked the specialness that the first few seasons had. Also Marg's face is starting to scare me. In the last scene when she walked down the hall her eyes were open abnormaly wide. Too much lift going on there. Seriously, off camera and without all of that make up on she must be getting to look pretty odd.

The case itself... I dunno, I keep feeling like they're doing what Chris Carter did with Millenium when he reused elements of Xfiles plots. Excpet C.S.I is stealing from itself. This plot sort of reminded me of the case where the parents were all swingers and one daughter killed her mother (I think it was just the mother) So now we have a couple who are both having affaires, the teenage daughter gets pissed off at her step mom for being unfaithful and kills her. I guess they figure if it worked before why not tweak it and rewrite it. If this were going to be the last season I'd think they could pull together and pull out all of the stops and go for it. But I believe they have two years left so they may be going down the same path Xfiles went down, a very slow decline which is way worse than just ending while you're still going strong.

WaT

I liked this episode. It was working in the Season 1/2 WaT way not in the crapfest season 3 turned out to be. Martin is seriously hot. My inner fangril just loves him lol

I liked seeing the different way the team welcomed him back. They're totally doing the S/M angle again but I'm hoping the writers have learned from last time and will maybe think ahead before throwing two characters together. I'd love to see them together (with a bit of angst still of course lol) but not like last year when they were a couple and then it seemed that the writers had no idea where they were going after that happend. I did highly enjoy the long hug and the glances. Also the look tvViv shot them, HA "VIV KNOWS ALL" I tell you it's true.

Speaking of Viv, Marianne John-Baptiste is still losing weight like woah! She looks great, still healthy, not skeletal, but she's really getting skinny.

I liked the twists the episode took with the bomb threat being real and then not real and then real again. I also liked when the kid talked about how he'd seen a gun in a kids locker and the teacher was getting freaked out about that and not really taking the point that it got in past the metal dectors. Those things are an illusion of safety, kids always find a way to get weapons into school if they really want to. It's scary but a lot of school boar politics seems to want to gloss over that fact instead of dealing with it.

Jack.... oh Jack.... from him I only really liked two things. 1. the comment to the random teacher who asks if the school is safe (paraphrased) "there's no bomb in there, the rest is up to you" and the way he delt with Martin at the end... at least letting him know that another agent was joining the team so that it wouldn't blindside Martin. The way he treated Danny was horrible. Clearly Danny was having fallout from the car shooting, perhaps he should have been getting therapy instead of thrown against cars. Also Jack telling Danny that they had a chance to talk the kid down and Danny blew it. Umm hello Jack, Super H wannabe much? Danny's talked kids down before (Clare De Lune) and how the hell do you think you could have done any better? I just want his character to get better, and it's a wee bit better than last year but he's still just an ass. It's more than a flawed hero type, he's an incompetent boss sometimes and unstable. He should not be incharge of anything right now until he gets himself figured out.

That's all for now, I'm still digesting Veronica Mars (and the torrent file was late getting up and I don't want to spoil Viv) so I'll review that one tomorrow.
