elizalavelleQuick Veronica Mars thoughts for the week then I've got to run to the dentist! But this week was so good, I couldn't wait.
Okay. I'm a suck. I cried for Jackie and for Keith. FOR JACKIE PEOPLE!? So sue me, Rob Thomas rocks and made her character likeable. Actually I can see now why she had to suck for long because no one would have believed that she was being a bitch last week if she were Mac or something.
Oh and all of the Mac/Cassidy shippers must be so happy. I like them together. Adorable. And it's kinda nice to see a couple that might stay drama free really, those people exist too.
Dick... oh I thought he was going to get "complicated" this week, instead sheer brilliance. I LOVE Cassidy getting his own there. Fucking hell yes! "what do you call yours?" I didn't see that coming at all.
I also thought the money was in a pie box. I totally thought the rich kids stole it. I lose, but I love this show.
Logan Logan Logan. Firstly, you're hot, come visit me. ;) Secondly your clothes were not so hot, take them off. Thirdly that's the plastic surgen who's lying for the Fitzpatricks right? I should go read TWoP, they don't miss anything there. **checked and I'm right I don't miss much either apparently** go Logan. I love how he and Weevil both have learned from Veronica and we're seeing them put that into use now.
Weevil. I heart Weevil. Way to exicute payback in a way that got Thumper in a world of trouble but didn't involve beating the crap out of him on a bridge (speaking of which does anyone ever drive on that bridge? What with all of the beatings and shootings... where are the witnesses? the REAL witnesses anyways?) He was great.
LOVE the principal hate Miss Hauser. SO glad she was stealing even though I didn't see it coming.
I'm over the moon with how good this show is. SO SO MUCH PLOT going on right now. I mean we got the whole Baseball Terrence Cook story, and Keith being disillusioned, and it's so heart breaking to see that. I mean everyone's had a moment like that and he played it so well, I'm super impressed. There scenes were so great and complicated because in one shot they'd go from being pals to a heartbreaking revelation and it was done perfectly every time.
Then we have Jackie being a genuinely nice person, and seriously to show up to a thing like that, I'm loving her character based on stubborness alone now. She can hold her own.
Oh and Wallace rocks. Way to be a gentleman :)
Then the Mystery of the Week was perfectly done, lots of twists and turns but nothing faked out. Great great great.
Mean teacher gets caught (I like to see that)
Bus crash plot is advanced like woah.
Racial problems still present. Oh and I have to say I really love that they're doing that. Of course it would be an issue in a rich white kids school. I went to one until grade 8. My elementary school had one black girl who I knew, everyone else was white. Jr. High had 2 black kids and 2 Asian kids (and the Asian kids were brother and sister) everyone else, white. When I went to my highschool which divided up to be about 50% Asian, then add in some East Indian, a lot of Greek (who I realize are white but not in the WASP white way that my earlier schools had been) some Black people etc etc and suddenly I'm in the minority but it's not as noticiable. BUT parents of my friends from my old school would always ask me what it was like to go to school with so many kids of different races, as though that would be an issue. I'm SO glad I was pulled out of the rich white kids school because that's no way to learn about people and no way to raise your kids. I mean the parents had gone through much the same system I'm sure and they just couldn't see how I didn't see the difference in having a black friend vs hanging out with all white kids. So terrifying actually.
Okay that was a rant. Anyways, my point being that the episode once again had TONS of plot and held up solidly. Two weeks in a row. My goodness, my show is back in full force. And I'm still holding out that some of the earlier episodes which didn't rock so much had important stuff in them which will come out later. Like Miss Dumas.. hell this is the only interesting thing Naima has done. Of course we get the interesting without ever having to see her attempt to act it (Thank you Rob Thomas!) but who knew that that annoying useless character would be pivital as the show went on. Who knew that Jackie would be much like Veronica and you just want to hug her and tell her it'll be okay when you graduate and get the hell away from those people... Rob Thomas is the new Joss... but Joss is still a writing genius.I love him!
