Hmmm random VM finale thoughts
I wasn't even compelled to type about the finale as it plays in the background until I hear "hello lover" WTF, that's a Lilly reference... and I get it but what am I supposed to infer from this? Mac is the new Lilly? Or should I be thinking that Veronica is now like Lilly was, sex tape, random quote... what? All I get is my thought of 'when Lilly was a character on this show it used to be good, one random quote now is far too little too late.'
Giant paintings of the Kane siblings are creepy. Like a whole world of creepy. And I like how Lilly's seems to be tucked away somewhere near the doggy door and Logan's is hung in his father's office. Even though he kidnapped a baby and ran away to Australia he's still the favourite kid. Wow.
Veronica betraying Keith again and again and again sickens me. Haven't we been shown that he always stands by her, hasn't she been shown that. Did we not have whole themes on how she needed to earn his trust again? Did the writers forget that?! I haven't watched the show in weeks and I know that was a theme this year!
THEN to not only have her be a selfish bitch yet again and use her father and make him feel bad for accusing her of something that SHE DID he ends up having to destroy evidence in order to cover for her. Way to be a sheriff Keith. Thank you RT for so far ruining that character. I mean in season 1, even in season 2, I cared about Keith being sheriff. Now not only did I not care about him getting it but clearly I think he should be fired. ALSO by using Leo to hand over the evidence, after he's already been caught destroying evidence last season and has a former relationship with V that could clear Keith or at least create some reasonable doubt. So that's smart and I bet would have been the loophole to get Keith out of trouble next year but the Keith I knew back when the show was decent wouldn't have ever done that.
Saying "I love you" after the fact doesn't make things better Veronica. Seriously did that "I love you" translate to "I'm sorry that now I've made you lose your job, your credibility and whatever money you have to now pay in legal fees, sooo I'm off to the FBI internship and I'll see you in September, kisses!"
Oh and V managed to slip in using Wallace one last time. I suppose that's continuity. Crappy -the main character never evolves for the better, in fact she seems to get more adept at using her friends instead of valuing them as actual friends- continuity, but at least it's something I suppose. Oh and she used Mac for a felony as well. AND used Weevil even though I'm sure his parol officer wouldn't like to know that he'd been vandalizing cars and then what, wandering around showing off his handiwork so he can get arrested yet again? WHAT? While Weevil isn't necessarily shy about his hobbies he's street smart. No way he'd be giving the victim a great shot at ID-ing him in a line up.
Logan has been made to look like the bad guy for actually defending Veronica's honour. She treats him like crap, gets called a whore, he stands up for her and is the bad guy? whatever show. We had this lesson on Firefly, except when Mal defended someone's honour that actually made him the hero and a shiny new job.
So what... with the election thing... had there been a season 4 we were supposed to believe that Vinnie would have been Sheriff?
whatever show.
So that's the end. Nothing's resolved. We don't know who will win the election, it seems Keith yet again is left out in the dark about his daughter (and seriously Veronica, your dad probably has guessed you've slept with someone now, he wouldn't have watched the tape, he'd have helped you out) Wallace is out of luck with getting into a hugely powerful secret society, Logan looked like he was finally getting his spark back but apparently that's a bad thing in VM land. Piz is the hero for doing nothing.
You know that saying about how if you see something bad happening and don't help to fix it you're just as bad as the person doing the damage? Yeah, that's Piz and apparently RT thinks that's what we should reward.
So much ranting. At least it's over and can't come back... I have one last VM post brewing talking about the decline of the seasons... I'm still letting my mind go through that one, I have some new theories about that.
Lastly, and I can't belive I forgot to type this earlier, why on earth was it okay for Veronica - a victim of 2 rapes and being attacked - to make fun of Chip's rape not only to him but in front of his friends?! I don't think RT gets what he's done here at all.

Date: 2007-05-23 03:52 am (UTC)That's how I've felt about a lot of stuff lately. Like Dick acknowledging that he was torn up about Beaver - that was awesome, but it was just way too late, and therefore it wasn't as satisfying to me as it should have been.
(and seriously Veronica, your dad probably has guessed you've slept with someone now, he wouldn't have watched the tape, he'd have helped you out)
Well if the chlamydia didn't tip him off that she'd had sex then he really shouldn't be sheriff.
Crappy -the main character never evolves for the better, in fact she seems to get more adept at using her friends instead of valuing them as actual friends- continuity, but at least it's something I suppose.
Yeah, that's really something that I was so hoping they'd tackle in s3 - Veronica learning to be as good a friend to her friends as they are to her. But no, as usual it's all about Veronica and she uses them then bails.
I don't think RT gets what he's done here at all.
I think it's pretty safe to say that RT has no idea what he's done at all in general. In Robland the show failed because us evil fans turned against the show and didn't rent enough planes to keep it on the air. Whatever, Rob. Just whatever.

Date: 2007-05-23 06:33 am (UTC)I don't think I've ever been more offended, when watching a show than I was the moment those words came out of her mouth in regards to his rape. I get that she was angry, hurt and looking for revenge, but that in no way, shape or form should ever give her the right to make fun of someone else's rape, most esp. when she's been raped herself, twice.
I shake my head in wonder, at how RT could ever let this show get these epic proportions of horrendousness.
