I've had a few things ready to post in here but I've also been stressed out about my newly married roommates who are on their honeymoon in Belize so I've not been LJing much this week. However I read the news this morning that no serious injuries or deaths have been reported in Belize in the wake of Hurricane Dean so I'm feeling a little more relaxed about that.

So first up I bring you my wedding entry

This past Saturday was the wedding of my roommate’s Nicole and Miguel. It was a much fancier wedding than the one I was at the previous week, I think that for myself I prefer the less fancy type of wedding. BUT it was a beautiful night for them and everyone looked happy. I was amused for much of the day because as Nicole was giving me directions for how to find the boat she was trying to think of landmarks and I knew pretty much none of what she was giving me ‘til she hit the Weston hotel. Hee, I did learn that one this year ;)

The Service was on a boat which was fun. We were supposed to leave at 7 but the cake (which was supposed to be delivered at 3) had not arrived yet. I’m not sure if it was eventually delivered or if someone drove to the store to pick it up (and hopefully to complain about that service, wedding cakes shouldn’t be 4 hours late) so we ended up leaving around 7:30. The service itself was beautiful. Very religious which for me was different but there were some nice passages read from the Bible and the pastor was a lot of fun as he’d known Nicole for years. They also had everything translated into Spanish which is a beautiful language. There was a baby there who was quiet and so well behaved until the ceremony started and then he fussed for the whole thing ‘til his mom took him out for the last 10 minutes. That adds character I guess. Well that and the fact that every boat that passed us was full of people who cheered for the wedding LOL

We then had a lovely dinner where I had a glass of wine and a long island iced tea. I sat with a bunch of Passioneers and also one of Nicole’s old roommates Melissa and her boyfriend Kayson and had a great time for the meal. Cam and I decided we were eloping in Vegas… which then apparently convinced everyone we were dating. Not so true, but it was entertaining for the evening.

After dinner there was dancing, and more drinking so I had a shot of tequila and a rum and coke. There was an awesome percussion band who played for a bit. All was fun.

Then we had the cutting of the cake, ate dessert, and went to dance again (and I had another shot of tequila and another rum and coke… it all seemed like a good idea at the time LOL.) Dancing on a moving boat while tipsy is actually pretty entertaining, even more so when everyone on the dance floor tips one way or another depending on the waves. Everyone had their Jack Sparrow sea legs ;)

We docked around 12:30 and I went off to the subway with Neal and his date (whose name I can’t remember but he was really nice) and to top off my evening I had some guy hit on me as soon as I hit the Bloor Danforth line of the subway, he tried to come home with me, so much no. Even through my tequila goggles he was not really hot. But I did manage to make him leave me alone by the time I was leaving the station.

I passed out as soon as I was in bed, was only a little sick in the morning and since I was mixing drinks like a high school kid I’m okay with that.

Sounds like it was a wonderful night!
And I love the image of everyone getting a bit drunky face on a boat. Hee!

Yup it was a fun night and it was entertaining to see a dance floor of tipsy people trying to not fall whenever the boat rocked :)

It was a fun night, I think it worked well because it ended at 12:30, not really enough time for people to get so drunk they were sick while on the boat.

I love being on boats, but I'd have been done after the first drink.

I love boats as well. I was able to drink more on the boat than I thought I would be able to... shouldn't have done the extra shot of tequila but I still was fine while on the boat :)

I suppose the boat wouldn't have made a difference, for me -- I haven't had a drop of alcoholic beverage in something like ten years, so knocking me out wouldn't take much!
