O.C. review behind the cut



Awww this was a sad ep... I'm not sure that I liked Alex's exit at all. She left home ages ago, is running a bar and suddenly might go home and go to school? You can't just walk away from a buisness. And again if you're looking at going home/to school, how old is she!?

Also Seth = annoying. He orchestrated the whole thing and it bothered me that they let that work out.

They did leave a lot open for her to come back though so perhaps if the fan outcry is enough they'll do that.

However when did Alex turn into an evil, beer drinking angry person? That was new, was it not she who was keeping people from fighting at the SNO-C episode? Whatever

Julie Cooper actually was acting like a mom, super impressive. Now I get why the porn tape was so upsetting because it's a scandal but one that would boost the sale of their magazine really. But if she's worried about her kid coming home then I can see why it could be a problem

Sandy finally is back to amusing me again.

Marissa is looking an aweful lot like an Olsen twin. Also she seemed to be really trying to act.... and it wasn't going well for her. It was like when a little kid tries to act and they just say something louder and clearer and smile when they say it. Not effective, kinda scary.



In other news, why is my non perminant hair colour still in? I like it, it's faded a lot but the sun still picks up the colours... meh apparently I got more than my money's worth.

I also have essays a plenty to do. However, I also have lots of work this weekend. I need money, so I'll work. Also I prefer to not burn out over school just yet.... or ever really. Academia is not my life

Aww... I guess I'm a big sap because I really liked their scene on the beach. And I don't even care about all of the logistical problems with Alex going home. I think she is only supposed to be 17 as well... which means that her running a real bar is completely impossible and makes no sense, but whatever. Someone on the TWoP board said that The Bait Shop is supposed to be a juice bar. That's about the lamest thing ever, but eh. I'm just glad she left on good terms and that it seems they are leaving it open for her to come back.

The beach scene was sweet. I'm glad they didn't end on a bad note because it's much easier to have her come back and cause drama next year if they didn't have Marissa hate her at the end.

Juice bar.... hmmmm, but it serves alcohol at night... and Alex bar tends, so that's moot. Meh, continuity and sense are not big in the world of the O.C.

I liked Jealous Alex. But then I like jealous. I like when people fight for other people. I just wish she wasn't drunk the entire time. I liked when she hit Ryan. I just wish she had succeeded in beating the shit out of him. While she was at it, she should have pounded Seth's stupid face into the concrete.

Such anger.

I thought it was a pretty cheap breakup. One minute Alex is like "I don't fit in here" and the next she's like "Oh I'm going back to school." I don't know why, if she wanted to be a part of Marissa's life, and wanted to go to school, GO TO HABOR. BUt Marissa's such a dirty stupid slut so maybe Marissa doesn't even deserve Alex anymore. The breakup, although very civil for stupid teenagers, was too neat and tidy. They both kinda just accepted it.

I was amused at Julie's attitude. All of a sudden she's like SuperMom. I mean, when her daughter was obviously depressed and drinking all the time, and she was just like, "yeah. That's Marissa being a bitchy teen."

Stupid OC. Hatechu. OC. GAH. I have serious issues with anger and TV characters.

I don't want to watch the O.C. anymore.

Hey! I knew your SN looked familiar when we were talking on the M/A comm last night. And now I know why, lol. Maybe I should change my icon so we don't confuse Elizabeth, hehe.

I feel you on missing Alex. I'm just a tiny bit in love with her, lol. And the break up did happen very quickly, but then again everything about their relationship happened on warp TV speed. I'm just pretending that Alex went through all of those emotions over the course of a couple weeks instead of a couple minutes. Because then it's quite realistic. She totally should've punched Ryan. Or, better yet, shoved Marissa around a bit. Now that would've been cool.

I would love for Alex to stay and go to Harbor, but isn't that like a fancy-schmancy private school? How would she pay for it? And even if she went to a public school in Newport she wouldn't be able to work enough to afford her rent. Eh, maybe I'm just justifying her going "home" (wherever that is, since I thought her parents hated her?) to make myself feel better, lol.

I would love for Alex to stay, regardless of how little logistical sense it would make, lol. (Much like the lack of rational sense just up and leaving her apartment and Bait Shop to go back to a family that does hate her and she seems to hate them is). In real life, you can't do that, but hey, this is the O.C.! hehe. Continuity isn't important. ;)

I think she could come back next year, she has a big fanbase now unlike the other random characters who were introduced this year.
