I liked this one and then I didn't like it. The parallel between LoVe and the MotW got just too brutally obvious. Also I just didn't like the Logan Veronica fights, not cool at all. For a while I thought they were going to break them up already and being only the 3rd episode in that's just not okay. Says me :)
So onto the stuff I did like: Weevil! Weevil is back! And he has an asshole of a boss, swell. I don't get these bosses who push buttons like that. Hullo, you're going to go out of your way to hire an ex con and then you're going to yell at them and see if you can push them far enough that they hurt you or do some kind of property damage to your store... where does that get fun?
At least it led to some awesome Weevil working for Keith scenes. I loved those! Because we not only got to see Weevil in a tie! But he was so excited about the work and good at it. Clearly befriending Veronica was good for him lol. I was not happy at all to see him lose that job although I see the sense in it. They need him on campus so he can be more involved in upcoming plot lines I'm sure and it's easier to have him working there than explain how he suddenly was enrolled there.
Which brings me to the Dean. Firstly, no Dean's office would ever have the a/c broken while the rest of the school is okay. Please the guy who ran one of my residences had a big screen TV and had wired the cable to that building just for himself. I'm sure his a/c worked just fine. So the realism in some hot shot Dean not being able to get the a/c fixed was lost on me. Also the Dean is dumb, who tells a detective, or if he doesn' t realize she's that, at least an investigative reporter, that they fucked a grad student? That's not kosher. It happens but who knows. Maybe he'll be the rapist, frustrated that that kind of thing isn't "okay" anymore.
Piz, Piz is so emo it hurts, no seriously, it hurts, pleast make him go away now. I'm just annoyed by him. Also, didn't he want to have a music show on the radio? and he ends up having a talk show? huh?
Why are Mac and Parker BFFs? That's also annoying.
The Mystery of the Week was just meh. It was okay but I didn't like the way the clues were SO easy to follow! I mean a perfect piece of popcorn in this guys backpack (apparently he doesn't ever put books or anything else that would have squished that into the backpack) after we've just heard about "popcorn for Pop" it just felt like they were spoonfeeding the audience. Which just got worse as they started to mirror the MotW's relationship with the LoVE relationship. Which, why was Veronica the last person to catch onto that, from about the 40 minute mark we were hit over the head with that parallel and no, she can't get it until the very end, not so Veronica like.
Oh and Logan, who spends the entire episode being an ass. Is it his time of the month or something? Because he was fine and now, now he's avoiding Veronica unless he's having sex with her. Which really isn't why I like them as a tv couple. It's always been set up that they have good chemestry and can snark at each other but that in the end they really do get each other and suddenly Logan just wants to run off and gamble. AND who would say "I think I'm getting lucky" to their girlfriend on the phone and then not expect some sort of freak out later?! He was baiting her but I can't see why and I don't think the writers really saw why either... hmmm
However I did quite enjoy the use of the Regina Spektor song Fidelity at the end of the episode, that was freaking adorable. Also, now I clearly want to read some hot LoVe fic about sex in the library ;)
