The power blew at my apartment on Saturday morning as I was getting ready for my first summer wedding. Not the most fun ever. I had the directions for meeting up on the computer, glad that I had read them once earlier in the morning so I remembered them alright. The wedding itself was lovely, just the sort of small casual thing I'd want to do were I to get married.

Still no power by Saturday night (the apartment is in a house, breaker is in the basement apartment, that tenant rarely is in the city on weekends) so I split and came to crash at my parents house. They're on vacation 'til tomorrow so I took their room and watched some Farscape with my brother (who is now 1/3 of the way through the first season and is hooked *yay*)

Today there is still no power in the apartment. I dropped by briefly to pick up my pass for work and am crashing at my parent's house again today. The problem for me with no power in the summer means I can't even run a fan and I get heatstroke. My room is on the third floor, heat rises yadda yadda yadda and I'd be too sick by Monday to fathom going to work. Ergo I'm chilling out here. Going to grab a slushie and then I think watch some Babylon 5 :)

aw I hear that shit, just before I moved all the power in my apt room blew except for the socket that ran my mini fridge, an before that my air conditioner's pressure thing(I forget the name right now) busted, an there was no cool for 2 weeks before I moved, before that my water heater busted, and leaked a water fall three stories, and fucked my bathroom/carpet to my room/kitchen up. I woke up to a waterfall in my bathroom.....very cool....when it's suppose to be there....*thinks* a waterfall in a bathroom would be calming. gah, I haven't had a slushie in aeons. watching sg-1 right now. enterprise is on next <3

Well at least there's no waterfall in the bathroom... yet ;) And our fridge is still running, we're lucky to still have power in the kitchen.

I just started watching SG1 this year, I have a LOT to catch up on lol.

That's awful. I'm glad you at least have somewhere else to stay.

So am I :) I'm very lucky to have that... especially as there's still no power so I'm crashing at my parent's house again tonight lol.

Sounds like an electrical update is in order ...

For sure. However, since moving in I've learned what my roommates didn't tell me when I was choosing here to live, the landlord isn't really good. Which as I rarely like to bother landlords for much generally wouldn't bother me BUT the place I live should be up to code and I'm sure this one isn't. Oh well, it's just 'til next September. Then I'll figure something else out.

That reminds me of all the temporary patch-overs the owners of my home did; little things that could be hidden from naive home buyers (that would be me), and wouldn't break down until after the paperwork was signed.
