elizalavelle: (VM good love out there)
It has been a blissfully relaxing weekend, just what I needed :)

I slept in on Saturday and then went over to Jo's house where we spent much of the day chatting and she hemmed my pants (THANK YOU!) and we watched Eurotrip (because I hadn't seen it... note to self Michelle Trachtenburg acting any older than 12 years old squiks me out... she's freaking Harriet the Spy... or Buffy's little sister, not some topless chick in Europe... however apparently she and the LoHo are fighting so I have to support that ;) ) and had a fabulous sushi dinner. By the time we were done I thought it was around 7 o clock, in reality it was 10:30, oops.

Then today the only thing I had to do was grocery shopping. I also have managed to deposit a couple of cheques *yay* and picked up 3 DVDs at Blockbuster with my giftcards (thank you Viv and work.) I bought:

Slither - which I've been waiting and waiting and waiting to buy but it kept being $28.99 in stores and while I thought it was absolutely hilarious I'm not about to pay more than $30 for a movie. So I'm very glad I was able to buy that one :)

RENT - I KNOW how many of you are shocked that I didn't have this one yet? Honestly after seeing the show SO many times I wasn't in a huge rush to own the movie, I knew it would always be there so it kept getting pushed back so I could buy other movies.

Akeelah and the Bee - one of the cutest movies ever. I saw this one in theatres (actually I've seen all 3 of these movies in theatres, neat) I just think this movie is so sweet and also it's quite a good film. A lot of family movies tend to be complete dribble that I'm not interested in. This one was well constructed and a joy to watch :)

And that's my day. Tonight I want to keep working on my Buffy icon series (season 3 now) and also to try to be asleep at a reasonable hour (how old and boring do I sound? LOL)
elizalavelle: (Sarah Slean - have the ravens come)
So this is totally not confirmed one way or the other, but the Slean show in Kingston that I was absolutely thrilled about, might actually not be happening at all. It appears that no one working for Warner Music knows about this show. Not a good sign. This company isn't one known for screwing over their customers though and they were the ones who promoted the last Kingston Slean show, ergo I'm holding onto a shred of hope.

**ETA** My shred of hope prevails! The show is being rescheduled as I type :) Probably to March, nothing's for sure yet but they're working on it. No clue why Warner would have said there was no show as they're the ones rescheduling it. Then again they STILL owe me my dollar so I have far less faith in them being competent at their jobs than I used to.

Of course this fabulous news came after a work week that had some stressfull moments these past two days so I'm now feeling slightly ill. Not the best way to start the weekend.

I shall make it better though :) I am determined to not dwell on this, nothing can be figured out until Monday anyways.

Tomorrow Jo is doing me the huge favour of shortening my pants (curse my little little legs) which may not sound like news to most people but it's great for me :) It's like getting new pants all over again, because I'll finally be able to wear them!

Other than that I plan to relax, read more (just finished book 4 on the bus ride home today... almost cried on the bus *embarassing*) perhaps watch some movies, just sloth for a while and de-stress before Monday :)

Perhaps it's time for bed soon...
elizalavelle: (Nightmare Before Christmas)
Lovely weekend again this week :) I went to my parents house to sort of be around for the dog while my parent's were out of town. It turned out that my brother was around more than I was for once lol.

Friday night I went over to Viv's house, and it's been forever since I'd been there! Silly living accross town now. We ate far too much Hallowe'en candy, and she gave me her Lemonheads (I love that candy!) We watched Siblings which was another one of my random movie purchases and it turned out to be far better than anticipated :)

Saturday my brother took me out for lunch to celebrate my picture being used for the Orphan Music album :) We had great sushi at this little place in the Beaches. Then in the evening I met up with Tom and Jo to see the 3D Nightmare Before Christmas. Somehow Jo and I managed to lose the Yorkdale mall... we left the subway station and were in the middle of nowhere, seriously. Ask how we managed that and I have no idea, but in the end we managed to find the mall after wandering around a fair bit and we found Tom quite easily after that and were off to the movies. The 3D was so much fun!

And then today I just relaxed, did a little Value Village shopping and found a few new things for work which were sorely needed :) I got home a wee bit late (due to waiting for my copy of season 3 of The 4400, so that's worth it :) ) but had a very tasty supper and was glad to see that both of my fish have lived through the weekend, no one got eaten ;)

And now time for unpacking soon, and getting ready for work tomorrow :)
