Well the weekend was fantastic! Saturday was one of Mel's tshirt shindigs. Oh my goodness did the shirts ever turn out looking so good! I am so happy with how everything worked out. I can't wait to make more! ;)

After the shindig Tom, Jo and myself went to meet up with Sue downtown, I got happily buzzed on rasberry coolers :) All was well.

Sunday the snow storm was in full force. Everything looked so pretty. I totally skipped down my street to get to the subway. There was far less skipping when I had to walk to the grocery store and then to my parent's house, and by walk I mean trudge through knee deep snow. I've not done that since I was a kid! While the snow is not fun to shovel I think it looks great and I'm so excited that we might have a white Christmas this year.

Today I am oddly in a lot of pain and annoyance. Annoyance because I broke the cement off of the last wire that's on my teeth and so it's half coming off and I have to go to the orthodontist and get it reattached on Wednesday, 'til then it's going to drive me nuts. And suddenly today I find my stomach is killing me! No clue why. It feels like the stress stomach aches that I used to get (which the hospital kept thinking was appendicitus so that's about the level of pain) but I've not had one in years so I'm hoping it doesn't turn out to actually be something serious because I have so much else that I want to do this week.

I am back in the land of the internet! I haven't caught up with LJ at all and probably won't tonight (I'm super exhausted) but I'll try to get caught up with everyone asap.

I had a fun week downtown, went swimming a lot with Jo and saw a really entertaining lesbian comedy act a which was hilarious and involved stripping gymnastics, a cirque du soleil routine and a trapeeze along with singing. It was not what I was expecting at all but it was a fantastic act!

I also caught up with a few old friends this week, so much easier to do when I'm not so far out of town. I'm excited to move somewhere closer to downtown than I am now :)

This weekend was absolute madness. I clocked about 3 hours on the TTC on Saturday between getting to the west end for groceries, east end for bday dinner (and presents of MANY Farscape DVDs!) with the family, and then back to my housesitting job.

Sunday was Mel's (annual?) tshirt making shindig and I'm going to cut that one because there are lots of pictures as well as stories.

I'm sure most Firefly/Serenity fans have seen this already but if you haven't:

Dear fellow Browncoats-

It has been my pleasure to make and distribute the Jayne repro shirts to many of you literally the world over. Through great organizations such as the So Cal, San Fran, and South East Browcoats, our shirts have been used to raise money for charity at Comic Con and Wonder Con for the past two years . Today, I recieved a letter from Fox Corporate "asking" us to stop producing anything related in any way to the Firefly Series. We do not compete with them for any business, since the only thing Firefly related they sell as far as I can tell the DVD set. It is my hope to contact Fox to try to work out some sort of licencing agreement with them, but since they apparantly care nothing for the series or the fans that they abandoned, I am sceptical that they will allow us to continue in any fashion- if anyone knows of any other contacts that I can use to help negotiate with them, it would be appreciated, otherwise, I will go back to other business- They have given me 2 weeks to cease production, so if anyone is needing anything, please let me know as soon as possible...........

Sincerely,

Alex bluesunshirts.com

Have I mentioned in a while that I really really dispise the Fox Network? No? Well yeah, I freaking do! If you don't support a show, literally force it off of the air, and then already make tons of money from the Firefly DVDs (those things still hit the best sellers list occasionally, that's huge for a show that's been off the air for so long!) why the fuck do you need to further put down the fans? In all honesty I can sort of see where the copywright boundry has been crossed BUT it's a slim line when one looks at the products, they're not like Firefly logos everywhere.

Ugh.

Hate Fox.
