I am a happy book geek. I had to head downtown for an errand and thought I'd wander through the BMV since it had been a while since I last was there. I found the full set of 4 Wizard of Oz pop up books in their box these ones. I previously had bought two of them (I think The Yellow Brick Road and Emerald City) but I hadn't seen the other two around. So this was lovely to find.

Then I found this edition of Mary Poppins/Mary Poppins comes back from either 1963 or 1964. It has colour illustrations! My other versions of these books are all black and white.

AND last but not least a copy of Jack and Jill by Louisa May Alcott from 1928. I've never read this one of hers. All very exciting :)

Do you have this Oz pop-up? When it first came out & I saw it in a store I almost bought it just because it was so pretty.

Sounds like fun finds, I love old books.

I love Robert Sabuda's pop-up books! Although I've only seen the Christmas ones in person, those ones are so intricate, and simple... really beautiful.

I don't have that one yet, I found a copy of it at The Strand but it was a little beat up so I held off on getting it. That company has a fantastic Alice in Wonderland pop-up as well :)

I love old books too. I so want a library where I can have a shelf that closes in with glass doors and I can fill it up with rare old books :)

Beautiful! I have tons of old books and I love pop-ups! I met Robert Sabuda this summer and he was great. He is doing a Chronicles of Narnia right now.

I'd love to see a pic of the Louisa May Alcott book. I didn't realize she did a Jack and Jill.

I hadn't realized she'd written the book either, from what I've read when I looked at it in the store it's one based on the nursery rhyme.

Here's one being sold on Ebay, the copy I found is the same edition but better condition: http://cgi.ebay.ca/Jack-and-Jill-by-Louisa-May-Alcott-1928_W0QQitemZ8383353729QQihZ019QQcategoryZ377QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItem
